Welcome to my webpage, where I hope you will find useful information to assist you with your study of English.
This bit, though, is all about me.
I have loved reading since I was a little girl, and remember my grandmother giving me a beautiful hardcover copy of The Secret Garden for my sixth or seventh birthday, and thinking that it was the most beautiful thing in the world - and that was before I even read it! As I got older, I began to appreciate other forms of literature; poetry, critical essays, plays, documentaries and films. When I didn't really know what to do after school - a writer, a director, a journalist, a DJ ... an Arts Degree was a logical option. I loved completing my Bachelor of Arts at UNE, and with no clear career options at the end, I stayed another year and completed my Graduate Diploma of Education in Drama and English. Problem was, I loved literature, and I loved drama, but I didn't love teaching.
So, I moved to Sydney and went to film school, worked full time and saved to go overseas. After a year, I moved to London for eight months, before returning to Sydney and beginning a career in Recruitment. Ten years later, I decided to give teaching another go, and haven't looked back since. Now, I love teaching as it allows me to share that love of literature and drama with (sometimes) inquisitive and interested young adults, who I learn just as much from in return.
